Legislative Concerns

General Information

Legislative action is one of the three core missions of NAGPS, to ensure that the concerns of graduate students nationwide are heard by their leaders.  NAGPS seeks to improve the lives of graduate students throughout the United States by:

  • Organizing direct lobbying through its semiannual Legislative Action Days

  • Informing its membership of federal legislative and administrative actions that will affect the lives of its members

  • Assisting member schools in organizing local and national advocacy efforts to bring about lasting changes

The Legislative Concerns Committee is the primary group to tackle these educational laws and policies, but legislative action efforts also occur in the other NAGPS Committees.

For more information on our issues and advocacy resources, please visit our Legislative Action Center.
