Description of Duties

The following is a brief overview of the regular duties of the members of the NAGPS Board of Directors. For a full description of the duties please check the NAGPS By-Laws here.

 

President
The President serves as Chair of the Board and generally oversees the projects of the organization. This position is particularly responsible for the relationship of NAGPS to outside organizations, while also overseeing financial operations, internal duties, staff, and development activities. The President is the primary representative of NAGPS and its members.

Vice President

The Vice President assists the internal operations and communications of NAGPS by employing the rules of order, handling by-law and constitutional issues, and coordinating with NAGPS committees.  The main functions of the Vice President are to coordinate the content planning for the National Conference and act in the President's absence.

Director of Finance

The Director of Finance is responsible for maintaining the financial accounts of the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring the financial stability of the organization and funding NAGPS projects.

Director of Communications

The Director of Communications is responsible for maintaining communication with the members through electronic media, assisting the President as spokesperson, and developing publicity strategies for the Association.

Director of Administration

The Director of Administration assists the Board by maintaining records regarding the actions of the Board. Additionally, this position is responsible for the administration of electronic resources of the Association.

Director of Outreach

The Director of Outreach is the primary manager of the relationship of NAGPS to its member organizations. This position works with the Regional Chairs to ensure that members are in contact with NAGPS, maintains records regarding membership information, and promotes the organization to potential members through promotional activities. 

Director of Relations

The Director of Relations initiates and maintains relationships with all partners, sponsors, and donors of the Association. 

Regional Chairs

These positions serve as the link between NAGPS members and the Board. Collaborating with the Director of Outreach, they maintain communication channels with the members in both directions, update contact information, and plan local events such as regional conferences. The Regional Chairs are the primary representative of the Region.

Committee Chairs

These positions perform special duties for the organization by carrying out the projects for which their committees were created. They represent their committees to the Board and enable the Board to communicate their activities to the members.
