Web/Server Access


After the request is made, the Secretary will notify the individual of approval or denial. In the event of approval the individual will need to conform to the requirements listed below. In the event of denial, the individual can make an appeal to the executive BOD members consisting of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Ombudsman. If the executive BOD chooses to approve the decision then the individual will adhere to the same approval requests listed below.

NAGPS WEB SERVER ACCESS POLICY

Due to security concerns as well as the sensitive information that the NAGPS website holds the following policy has been established to facilitate both the need for individuals to have access to the NAGPS web server as well as limiting the potential for future security violations, loss of data, malicious destruction, and any and all other unforeseen actions that can have an negative impact on the NAGPS web site.

Sending an Access Request

For any individual desiring access to the NAGPS server via Telnet, SSH, or other UNIX means, the following information must be presented to the Secretary/CIO of NAGPS.

  1. The exact and specific nature/reason for the request.
  2. The exact amount of time estimated to execute the request.
  3. The exact method they wish to access the site.
  4. A preplanned date and time of day that the individual wishes to execute the request.

Approval Parameters

  1. The individual will sign an agreement not to damage the website and acknowledges that he/she will be liable for any damages that they incur either innocently or maliciously.
  2. The individual will be given a password that will grant them access for the specific time and date they requested (if available), or one will be assigned to them.
  3. The individual will create a log file immediately after entry to the system that tracks all of their activities. Immediately upon completion of their request (max allowance time 15 minutes) they will email that file to the Secretary.
  4. Failure to follow any of these parameters will result in permanent expulsion from any access to the NAGPS website as well as any legal/financial costs.
