NAGPS Standing Policy on Use of the Individual Member Mailing List
Approved: April 15, 1997

 

 

  1. When a vendor asks, or is asked, to financially sponsor part ofor all of the cost of a mailing for the first time, the Executive Committee, at the direction of the Executive Director, shall reviewthe matter and approve or deny the sponsorship, based on the use ofthe product to NAGPS members, preview of the proposed advertising, and other factors.
  2. Once a vendor is approved, sponsorship of part or all of subsequentmailings by this vendor may be approved on behalf of NAGPS by theExecutive Director acting alone. A list of approved vendors will bemaintained by the Executive Director for reference.
  3. Sales of mailing labels are to be limited to only those vendorsapproved previously by the means listed in item #1 above. Only onecopy of pre-printed mailing labels shall be sent to the vendor, andunder no other circumstance will printed or electronic versions any portion of the NAGPS database to released to a vendor, without consent of the Executive Committee.
  4. Prior to the release of any NAGPS mailing labels, a copy of thematerials to be mailed to NAGPS members by the vendor must be previewed by the Executive Director or the President for content in each case.
  5. At the earliest subsequent meeting of the Board of Directors, theBoard shall be informed of vendors added to the list of approved sponsors or users, and those to which mailing labels were sold. The Board may choose to add or remove vendors from the list of approved vendors at any time during a regular meeting.
