The Southcentral Regional Conference will be hosted by Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK over the weekend of March 12-14, 2010.

The Southcentral Regional Conference is targeted to bring graduate student leaders from the region together to discuss common issues and discover events and initiatives that are ongoing at neighbor institutions. The program will be full of educational events, keynote speakers, professional development, and of course many social and networking events. We strongly encourage every school to attend this conference so we can come together as a group and create a unified voice.
 
Registration:
The registration cost for NAGPS members is $30 and is $50 for non-members. The registration would be used to offset the cost for some of the meals, transportation, etc. Registration must be completed by March 1st, 2010. Click here to register (registration is at the bottom).
 
Transportation:
Air: The nearest airports are in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. We will provide shuttles to and from the airport. Please let us know your intent to fly so we can arrange for pick-up.
Ground: Stillwater is located 16 miles East of I-35 on Highway 51. Stillwater is approximately a 5 hour drive from Kansas City, KS, a 4 ½ hour drive from Dallas, TX, a 5 ½ hour drive from Little Rock, AR, and a 7 ½ hour drive from St. Louis, MO.
 
Lodging:
Arrangements have been made with Marriot’s Residence Inn for $70 + tax per night. There are king suites or double queen suites available, each with a sleeper sofa, that can sleep 3 or 5 people, respectively. This hotel is brand new to Stillwater and offers fantastic amenities, including free wired and wireless internet throughout the hotel, complimentary hot buffet breakfast, business center complete with printer, copier, and fax, fully stocked fitness center, indoor saltwater swimming pool, sport court on-site with basketball, volleyball, and tennis, and an outside BBQ seating area. We will be providing a free shuttle to and from the OSU campus. We strongly recommend that you stay at this hotel.

Attire:
Business casual is the preferred attire for the conference. Oklahoma weather in March can be variable. Be prepared for some warm and chilly weather. You may also want to bring some rain gear as well.
 
Conference presentations:
There are many topics that will be covered during the conference, including health insurance, lobbying, working with administrators, career development, social and networking event ideas, and emergency relief. Each school has something they are good at, so we are asking for your help by presenting on a topic that your group is experienced in or has been involved in. You are not required to present a topic to attend the meeting, but we do encourage it. If you have a topic that you can talk about or facilitate a discussion in, please send us a title and a brief summary of the talk to Stephanie Rogers, Conference Director, at srogers1229@yahoo.com.
